NewsletterFeb 26th 2010 What a wonderful and exciting summer season Riverton and surrounding areas have had, with tourists from many countries of the world. More people are travelling the Southern Scenic Route, and stopping and enjoying Riverton - "the Riviera of the South"! Te Hikoi has had visitors going through our heritage attraction, and comments range from "one of the best in the world" to "beyond our wildest imagination" So for those thinking of trying this experience JUST DO IT. The Riverton area has a significant geological history. Last year, we completed a geology brochure in collaboration with GNS Science, a New Zealand government-owned research organisation. Don't hesitate to come in and get this brochure; for $5.00 you'll learn lots about our area. We now have a trail of world wide significance and are attracting many tourists who are wanting to find out more about Rivertons' unique geology and rock formation. Watch this space for geology matters, as GNS scientist Nick Mortimer will keep us updated with new information. Well, hope to see you, and let yourself known to us,when you pop in.
