As we progress into the twenty-first century it is important to remember the sacrifices and hardships endured by our early settlers. Today as life becomes easier it is difficult to envisage what our pioneers achieved with very little equipment – it was simply very hard work.  Even for the women it was a life of extreme hardship, carrying water, washing by hand, looking after children. These women excelled in these earlier times, often without other female company for long periods.
Riverton heritage society is committed to honoring our ancestors’ early achievements.  This sixth edition has many more photographs from the collection, thanks to the work of Catherine Hill.  This book records our early history, and all Riverton people should have a copy   -- Dave Asher -  past president - Riverton Heritage Society.
